A fogad\u00f3 \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9se 1914-ben kezd\u0151d\u00f6tt, \u00e9s a tervp\u00e1ly\u00e1zatot Lehoczki J\u00e1nos \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9sz nyerte el. Megnyit\u00e1s\u00e1ra 1915. janu\u00e1r 1. napon ker\u00fclt sor. Kor\u00e1nak kiemelked\u0151 vid\u00e9ki fogad\u00f3ja volt sz\u00ednh\u00e1zteremmel, vend\u00e9gl\u00e1t\u00f3- \u00e9s sz\u00e1llodai funkci\u00f3val. A h\u00e1bor\u00fas \u00e9vek \u00e9s az azt k\u00f6vet\u0151 fokozatos p\u00e9nzroml\u00e1s k\u00f6vetkezt\u00e9ben azonban a szolg\u00e1ltat\u00e1s sz\u00ednvonala rohamosan cs\u00f6kkent. Az 1920-as \u00e9vek elej\u00e9n felmer\u00fclt az \u00e9p\u00fclet elad\u00e1sa, melyet a k\u00e9pvisel\u0151-test\u00fclet nem hagyott j\u00f3v\u00e1. \u00cdgy a Haggenmacker s\u00f6rgy\u00e1r vette b\u00e9rbe, T\u00f6lgysz\u00e9ki Papp B\u00e9la vezet\u00e9s\u00e9vel, aki fel\u00faj\u00edtotta \u00e9s felvir\u00e1goztatta a fogad\u00f3t, amely a k\u00e9t vil\u00e1gh\u00e1bor\u00fa k\u00f6zti id\u0151szakban Kisk\u0151r\u00f6s kereskedelmi \u00e9s kultur\u00e1lis \u00e9let\u00e9nek k\u00f6zpontja lett. M\u00e9gis a polg\u00e1ri iskola int\u00e9zm\u00e9nye egyre n\u00e9pszer\u0171bb\u00e9 v\u00e1lt, tan\u00e1ri \u00e9s tanul\u00f3i l\u00e9tsz\u00e1ma n\u00f6vekedett. V\u00e9g\u00fcl Lehoczki J\u00e1nos tervei alapj\u00e1n 1914. elej\u00e9n megindult a mostani gimn\u00e1zium \u00e9p\u00fclet \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9se, ami a h\u00e1bor\u00fa miatt csak 1919.-re k\u00e9sz\u00fclt el v\u00e9glegesen. Az elk\u00e9sz\u00fclt \u00e9p\u00fcletet a K\u00f6zoktat\u00e1si Miniszt\u00e9rium \u00e1llami kezel\u00e9sbe vette, \u00edgy megalakult a KISK\u0150R\u00d6SI PET\u0150FI S\u00c1NDOR POLG\u00c1RI FI\u00da-\u00c9S LE\u00c1NYISKOLA, mely kor\u00e1nak kiemelked\u0151 oktat\u00e1si int\u00e9zm\u00e9nye volt. Az \u00e9p\u00fcletben k\u00f3rh\u00e1z, majd tiszti iskola is \u00fczemelt. Tet\u0151szerkezete 1946. j\u00fanius 13.-\u00e1n le\u00e9gett, ami miatt az \u00e9p\u00fclet eg\u00e9sze haszn\u00e1lhatatlann\u00e1 v\u00e1lt. Csak 1955-ben ker\u00fclt sor az \u00e9p\u00fclet helyre\u00e1ll\u00edt\u00e1s\u00e1ra, viszont a tet\u0151t nem \u00e9p\u00edtett\u00e9k vissza, az \u00e9p\u00fclet lapostet\u0151s kialak\u00edt\u00e1st kapott. Az oktat\u00e1si reformoknak k\u00f6sz\u00f6nhet\u0151en az iskola k\u00e9pz\u00e9si k\u00edn\u00e1lata folyamatosan v\u00e1ltozott, b\u0151v\u00fclt, \u00edgy az iskola neve is t\u00f6bb \u00edzben v\u00e1ltozott. Id\u0151k\u00f6zben, 1969-ben az \u00e9p\u00fcletet b\u0151v\u00edtett\u00e9k szint\u00e9n a korra jellemz\u0151 lapostet\u0151s kialak\u00edt\u00e1ssal. V\u00e9g\u00fcl a k\u00f6zelm\u00faltban kapta vissza az \u00e9p\u00fclethez m\u00e9lt\u00f3 eredeti tet\u0151szerkezet\u00e9t \u00e9s form\u00e1j\u00e1t egy nagyszab\u00e1s\u00fa Az I alak\u00fa eredeti \u00e9p\u00fclethez felh\u00fazt\u00e1k az utcafronttal p\u00e1rhuzamos r\u00e9szt, ezzel az \u00e9p\u00fclet L alak\u00fav\u00e1 v\u00e1lt. Az \u00e1talak\u00edt\u00e1s az 1940-es \u00e9vek v\u00e9g\u00e9n k\u00e9sz\u00fclt el.<\/p><p>1944. november\u00e9ben a Kisk\u0151r\u00f6sre bevonul\u00f3 szovjet alakulatok, a v\u00e1rosban els\u0151k\u00e9nt ezt az \u00e9p\u00fcletet (annak utcai szob\u00e1it) foglalt\u00e1k le, ahol n\u00e9h\u00e1ny h\u00e9tig a szovjet katonai parancsnoks\u00e1g m\u0171k\u00f6d\u00f6tt, itt 8-10 f\u0151t sz\u00e1ll\u00e1soltak el.
